Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina is put on the spot

on Sabtu, 22 Januari 2011
Liverpool stopper Pepe Reina has given an insight into his life away from the pitch in Saturday's Daily Mail.
Who is your Sporting hero?
Being a Spanish goalkeeper, there is only one place I can look. Andoni Zubizarreta was a giant for the national team when I was growing up.
What would you be if you weren't a sportsman?
That is the eternal question, isn't it? I don't know. I'm very lucky to be a footballer, but I suppose if I wasn't I would just have a normal everyday job.
Which other sportsman would you like to be?
I don't have to think too long about this one - I'd be the Masters champion Phil Mickelson, without doubt. I love playing golf, I just wish my handicap was lower than 18.
Career highlight?
Getting my hands on that gold trophy in South Africa with Spain last summer. Winning the World Cup is something you could never forget. It was an unbelievable time.
...and the worst moment?
I don't have many bad memories, to be honest. I know I've lost a Champions League final but you can get over the disappointment of losing a big game. The day I was released from Barcelona in 2002, though, is not something I look back on fondly.
If your house was burning down, what one possession would you save?
It would have to be all the pictures and videos of my wife and children. They are the most important things in my life.
Favourite karaoke song?
My Way. It is a fantastic song but I don't for one minute think I can do it like Frank Sinatra. best advice you 've been given Always be humble because you start from zero every day.
Three most-listened to songs on your ipod?
I could tell you the names but they wouldn't mean anything to you. I just listen to lots of flamenco music.
Last film you saw?
With two little girls in my house, I don't get much say in what we watch. So, now I think about it, it was Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue.
Favourite pre-match meal?
Chicken and pasta. That combination works for me.
Your favourite holiday destination?
I've never gone wrong when going to Ibiza. You have everything you could possibly want there.
Tell us a secret...
It won't be a secret if I tell you, will it!  Here goes - Raul Meireles really thinks he looks the part with the clothes he wears but his trousers are absolutely terrible. He believes we all think he looks good but nothing could be further from the truth.
